Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: The Jeddah Art Initiative (21,39), under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Jawahar bint Majid Al Saud, President of the Saudi Technical Council and Al Mansouriya Foundation, presents a unique opportunity for art audiences in Saudi Arabia and abroad to learn about The culture of the city of Jeddah and Saudi Arabia, and review the foundations of growth and modernity witnessed and witnessed by the Kingdom at the international level.

 

"21,39" is a non-profit initiative launched by the Saudi Technical Council in February 2014 and includes an annual program that provides a special account of the cultural and creative landscape in Saudi Arabia. While its second session will begin with a week of various cultural events from 22 to 25 January 2015 and will last for a full month throughout the city. Visitors to the art of Jeddah will have a chance to visit the galleries, galleries and local art institutions that will continue to provide them with the international art community, a tour of the historic region of Jeddah and the historic visit of Madain Saleh, Ola in the outskirts of Medina in Saudi Arabia.

 

Zainab Abu Sameh, Director of the Saudi Technical Council, said: "Following the great success achieved at its first session in 2014, the Jeddah Art Initiative will continue to highlight the growing artistic scene in the Kingdom and preserve the value and artistic and cultural heritage. Will begin in January 2015 with a coordinated program of cultural sessions and art exhibitions that we aim to share with local and international audiences to provide a unique experience for cultural leaders, fans, the media and the art community as a whole - to highlight real creations and talent throughout the Kingdom. "

 

Jeddah art initiative 21,39 is inspired by the geographic coordinates of Jeddah (21.5433 ° N, 39.1728 ° E). ​​It tells the story of art in the Kingdom, focuses on the history of modern and contemporary art movements, and also focuses on many influential personalities who played an important role In promoting the site of Saudi art on the world cultural map. The first session included 40 Saudi artists from different generations in two exhibitions: the first entitled "Suspensions" and the second "Past as Introduction", which hosted more than 15,000 visitors, including 6,000 students from 150 schools.

 

The activities of the last session included educational and awareness programs that included several workshops, panel discussions and technical discussions throughout the three-month session. Also featured were Catherine David, Deputy Director of the National Museum of Modern Art, Georges Pompidou Center in Paris, Chris Dircon, Director of the Tate Museum of Modern Art, Shaikha Hor Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah Art Foundation, Ahmed Matar, Saudi Artist, Faisal Tamer, A member of the Saudi Technical Council, and others. In the course of 2015, the program will include panel discussions and discussions with many influential figures in the arts world to discuss the diverse aspects of contemporary art in Saudi Arabia.
